Want to be part of a Guinness World Record attempt? Do you love a good beat?
The Port Fairy Jazz Festival is attempting to break the current record for the “Largest Charleston Dance”. The record currently sits at 1096 people. We have choregraphed two dance routines (standing and sitting), both which can be danced to the beats of “Short Dressed Gal”. Our aim is to be as inclusive as possible to all dancing abilities. Your preferred routine can be viewed here:
There are four opportunities to practice the routine with others over the Jazz Festival weekend:
Friday 7 February 2020 - 7pm on Fiddlers Green, Port Fairy
Saturday 8 February 2020 - 1pm at Presbyterian Church, 34 William Street, Port Fairy
Saturday 8 February 2020 - 3pm at Presbyterian Church, 34 William Street, Port Fairy
Saturday 8 February 2020 - 9pm Sat at St Patrick’s Hall, 9/11 William Street, Port Fairy (ticketed event)
The opportunity for a dancing lesson at your venue is available for schools or community groups upon request and subject to availability.
