In light of the cancellation of the 2021 Port Fairy Jazz Festival due to covid-19 restrictions, this event was arranged for the benefit of the Port Fairy community. Open air concerts, under full COVID Safe Plan, were scheduled for Fiddlers Green on 12 to 14 February 2021. Premier Andrews announced a lockdown on Friday afternoon at about 1:30pm 12thFebruary to take effect from midnight that night for 5 days. Consequently the concerts set down for Saturday and Sunday were cancelled but the Friday evening concert went ahead. Band NQR, who were first on the program, decided to return home on the Friday afternoon to Melbourne/Ballarat to beat the curfew. This team was to supply most of the stage equipment for the weekend. The Friday evening event took place with a modified program from 5pm to 8pm with bands: The Harry Quail Collective, Gavin & Heather, and In Full Swing respectively. The event was conducted in dry but very blustery cool conditions. Most of the expected supporters exited Port Fairy in the Friday afternoon to get to their homes in Melbourne/Geelong/Ballarat/Hamilton/Adelaide before the lockdown. As a result of the mass exodus and the cool windy conditions, only a small crowd of about 30 patrons plus about 10 volunteers and 13 performers attended.
